Clear Speech

Speaks clearly enough to be understood by most listeners, including unfamiliar adults, at least 90% of the time.

Age 5

Complex Sentences

Uses sentences of 5–8 words, including conjunctions like 'because,' 'but,' and 'so' to connect ideas.

Age 5–6

Narrative Skills

Can retell a simple story with a beginning, middle, and end — a foundational skill for reading comprehension.

Phonological Awareness

Identifies rhymes, counts syllables, and begins to isolate individual sounds — critical for early literacy development.
